Standardization of PROLIST® Lists of Properties

National and international standardization
The lists of properties developed will be included in NE 100 and also in international standards via DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies in the DIN and VDE).
As a first step, the results of the work done by PROLIST® INTERNATIONAL, i.e. the properties and lists of properties, will be published in NE 100. To this end, they will be managed in a data base that was developed and is being financed by the “Lists of Properties Project Group (PROLIST®). The lists of properties (specification sheets) of NE 100 have been available for inspection and downloading from the PROLIST® data base (without IDs and definitions) as of release 2.0. However, only PROLIST® INTERNATIONAL members have unrestricted access to the PROLIST® data base.
Release 3.1 of NE 100 was published in November 2007. The number of lists of properties published in release 3.0 has been increased to 108, from 61 in release 2.0. Along with process measurement systems (for pressure, flow, density, level and temperature measurement) and actuators, the lists also cover switch room and control room devices as well as electric motors and switchgear units. Work is already being done to include additional fields such as weighing scales and field bus topology in future releases of NE 100 in order to extend the value lever – both in commercial and engineering terms – for companies.
The lists of properties of release 3.1are available in PDF, XLS and XML formats for downloading from a database created for this purpose, which is managed and financed by PROLIST® INTERNATIONAL.
The international standardization process is in full swing. The work on IEC 61987 Part 10 (which will provide an introduction to the theory of lists of properties for PCS devices) and Part 11 (which will include approx. 50 lists of properties of measuring devices) was already begun in early 2005. This work has been strongly supported by the international standardization community.
The lists of properties published in NE 100 conform to the relevant standards for properties and lists of properties: IEC 61360 and ISO 13584. The structure within the Device LOPs conforms to IEC 61987-1.
International Cooperation
On 26 October 2005, ISA and PROLIST® signed a supplementary document to the cooperation agreement on participation in the “Lists of Properties Project Group (PROLIST®). In this document, they agreed that

ISA Spec Sheet SP20 would be integrated into the PROLIST® Lists of Properties,
a common library of properties would be built up, and
both organizations would support each other in the international standardization of common properties and lists of properties
for process control devices within the framework of IEC.
PROLIST® INTERNATIONAL is currently trying to establish contact – and in some cases has already established contact – with other international organizations (e. g. IEC, JEMIMA, USPI-NL, etc.) that deal with lists of properties in the fields of electrical engineering and process control technology. |
